Racism and Renewing Our Society
The Jesuit charism is to be Contemplatives in Action. Please read our statement as we hope to encourage the reader towards both contemplation and action.
Motivated by the integration of faith and justice, our programs and retreats offer formation and renewal to youth and adults, strengthen families, and build community in the Ignatian tradition.
What's Going on at Casa?
Welcome Tom Florek, S.J.
We are thrilled to have Fr. Tom Florek joining our staff. Tom is a native Wisconsinite whose roots in Hispanic ministry date back to the 1970’s when he worked at Bruce Guadalupe School. He joined the Jesuits a few years later and has devoted much of his life to serving, training and accompanying within the Latinx community.
The Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus has loaned Tom to us through June to assist us in discerning our future directions, and we hope to find a way to maintain a relationship after that. We will give Tom space in the next newsletter to share some insight. In the meantime, Welcome!
Welcome to Maricella Naveri
We welcome Maricella and her many gifts to our staff. Maricella will be helping with grant writing and reporting, and she will be helping to lead some of our youth retreats.
In her own words: “I am so excited to join Casa Romero especially now, when the services provided by this amazing organization are most needed. Over the last two years, I have had the privilege of getting to know the staff and even help facilitate some of the middle school retreats and I have always walked away in awe of what this team of dedicated community stewards have created.”
